PLEASE NOTE:

Disruption to Holiday Homes Bookings: UPDATE

Due to server maintenance, holiday home bookings will be unavailable between 4.00pm Thursday (28 March) until 9.00am Tuesday (2 April 2024). During this time you will be unable to make holiday home bookings. We apologise for any inconvenience, however this is outside of our control. Thank you for your patience.

Holiday/Convalescent Homes

Our holiday/convalescent homes are located throughout the country so you and your family can enjoy a break away. Our homes are reasonably priced, all with wifi and linen service provided. Please note there are no pets allowed. Our homes can be booked through our app, website or by contacting the office. All NZFFWS homes are charged at $120 per night. Homes can be booked for up to seven consecutive nights up to six months in advance. Check in time is after 1:00pm (changing to 2pm from 1 June 2023). Check out time is no later than 11.00am.
NOTE: From 1 June 2023, check-in time is changing to 2pm (from 1pm) and, due to health and safety reasons, towels will no longer be included in the homes. Please remember to pack towels for your stay.

Whangamata

When vacating convalescent/holiday homes, please ensure:

  • All carpeted floor coverings have been vacuumed.
  • All lino floor coverings have been washed.
  • All toilets have been cleaned.
  • All hand basins/bath/showers have been cleaned.
  • The kitchen is left clean and tidy. Benches wiped down, food removed from fridge/freezer, microwave wiped out, hobs cleaned, fridge wiped out, dish washer emptied.
  • All rubbish/recycling has been put in the necessary bins provided.
  • No washing is left in the machine (please wash any cleaning cloths/tea towels and leave to dry in the laundry room or garage.)
  • Beds are left in a tidy state (duvets pulled up and straight, pillows in the right place).
  • Everything you have used is returned to its original place.
  • You have taken all your belongings with you.
  • You have closed all windows and shades and locked all doors.
  • The BBQ has been cleaned and the gas bottles are turned off.
  • Please remember to leave any keys in the lock box or where you found them.

NB. We have caretakers who help us look after our homes but they are not cleaners. If you have left the home in an untidy state, you will be charged for cleaning.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Members can book up to seven consecutive nights. Bookings can be made up to six months in advance. Cancellations will attract a $25 administration fee. Where less than 28 days’ notice is given, payment may not be refunded. Generally, there will be a 50% refund for cancellation from 29 to 56 days out from the rental period. There may be very sound reasons for needing to cancel a booking and those reasons will be considered, however, all refund decisions will be final.

Army and Police Homes

We have a reciprocal agreement with the Defence and Police. This enables our members to book homes 90 days in advance within each organisation.
​To request a booking, you will need to contact the Police or Defence directly. They may ask you to contact our office so we can send them confirmation of your membership.
