Would YOU Like to be a WSDO????
If not, would YOU like to represent us or do you know someone else who would be happy
Is there a WSDO (Welfare Society District Officer) at YOUR
station?
To do the job we supply WSDO's with -
A workplace folder that lists the benefits available to members & the entitlements to the various benefits.
A list of all of the members at your station - we ask that you keep us informed of any changes of address etc.
Support from the local Regional representative and/or the Society office.
We ask that the WSDO will keep us informed if any members need assistance - if someone is in hospital or off work sick we would ask you to organise a gift basket or suitable comforts, visit them regularly and keep an eye out for any other help that they may require.

HEALTHCARE 99,WHAT IS IT?
Healthcare 99 is a Mutual Health Fund set up by Firefighters for Firefighters to assist with Medical and Hospital Welfare needs of it's members.
It is self-funded by members contributions.
It is ‘NOT’ an insurance. The Fund is run by the Trustee (the Board of the Welfare Society who are elected by members of the Welfare Society) who have the absolute discretion over what benefits are paid. This is to ensure that members receive the most appropriate assistance.
Healthcare 99 offers a wide range of benefits to members and to ensure that they are aware of the benefits available at any time, we produce a schedule for members information.
A Professional Claims Manager has been appointed, and is overseen, by the Trustee. The Claims Manager processes the claims that are then authorised for payment by the Trustee.
The Trustee takes regular Actuarial advice to ensure that members receive the best return for their contributions. Contribution rates are set to be fair to all members. After all of the operating costs have been met, all contributions are available to meet member benefits Healthcare 99 has been operating for 4 years now and has just completed it's most successful year. Although members were previously notified to expect an annual increase at the beginning of the financial year on 1st April, at this stage, unless there is an unexpected rise in the level of benefits, we do not propose introducing any contribution increase until 1st October.
Ring the office for an information brochure that lists the schedule and includes the rules and contribution rates.
