RULE CHANGE
Page 23, Second Schedule, ‘Hospital/Home Visits, Amount’ Lines 3 & 4 – replace ‘WSDO’ with ‘Society Officers’

Explanation

The title WSDO( ie Welfare Society District Officer) has been replaced with Welfare Society Station Officer. The Board considers it appropriate to change the name in the rule book to the more generic ‘Society Officer’ to allow for a wider range of officers to carry out this function and to allow for any future changes.

Ex Firefighters / Retired Firefighters

Just because you are no longer a firefighter, either because you have moved on or retired, this doesn’t mean you have to relinquish your Welfare Society membership. Once you are a member of the Society, providing you pay your contributions, you can remain a member for life. If you were paying through the payroll you will need to set up a direct debit payment though – just ring and we’ll send you the form. All of the benefits will still apply.

Police Welfare Homes

When you want to use a Police Welfare home they require various details from you. You are able to fill out one of their forms from their wepage – they’ll give you the details. If you don’t have access to a computer and if you are happy for us to supply the details that they want please sign and return the slip below so that we have it on hand. We won’t give out your details without a signed authority from you so it is too late if you want to book a home and then ring us to supply the details as we will require a signed authority first
